Military Paintings
Here is a small selection of past military paintings.
Alix can undertake caricatures with real or generic faces, as in the samples below, or in the style of those in her Military Caricatures shop, or a variant. Please note that she does not undertake large group caricatures as this takes too much time out of her busy year. She suggests a search on line for corporate and military caricaturists who are usually able to paint such commissions when the timescale may be short.
Other types of military paintings can be discussed.

Background: the announcement of the start of the D-Day landings. Two old comrades, wearing their poppies, are in the foreground. Is the young soldier one of them as he was on D-Day or is a lost brother or lost friend?

A soldier stands next to his horse fixing a freshly picked poppy into his saddle. In the background silhouettes of soldiers are seen in action climbing out of a trench. The laddered walls of the trench are painted with the colours of all the British services in WW1. The poppies are few in the background but increase in number as they come closer to the viewer signifying the ever increasing numbers of those killed in action. Will this young soldier be one of those who will not return home?

The Commanding Officer, 1st The Queen's dragoon Guards: Alix was commissioned to paint a picture reflecting 1st The Queen's Dragoon Guard's 2008/9 tour of Afghanistan. She is a fabulous artist with rich experience of painting military subjects and she rose to the challenge magnificently. A master of detail and rich in ideas and originality, she was able to capture our tour superbly by painting a scene that got to the core of why we were there - to help stabilise Afghanistan by improving security and helping to connect the people with their fledgling government. I thoroughly recommend her.
