This is excellent. Your work always carries an interesting narrative with shrewd and insightful observation. The scene conveys the heat of recent days and you cleverly incorporate as a contrast the gently lapping cool blue sea. These ladies are clearly feeling the heat but have chosen to "gossip", for now rather than seek relief, just a few feet away. What are they talking about, I ponder? Great art.

She is a fabulous artist with rich experience of painting military subjects and she rose to the challenge magnificently. A master of detail and rich in ideas and originality, she was able to capture our tour superbly by painting a scene that got to the core of why we were there - to help stabilise Afghanistan by improving security and helping to connect the people with their fledgling government. I thoroughly recommend her.

To me, as a layperson and very much not an art critic, Alix’s paintings draw me in so that I feel I am in the place, and with the people, that Alix paints. For me her paintings are evocative and sensitive to her subjects. I gain endless pleasure from looking at the two paintings of hers that I own.

Her pictures are distinguished not only for their excellence but also for her quite exceptional accuracy… We see a good many current drawings of military uniforms and figures in the process of reviewing books…and can say without hesitation that this work stands head and shoulders above anything else we have seen.

Alix is doing the country a service by being the only artist making a determined effort to record military dress and its wearers as it is in the last quarter of the 20th Century.
