Alix Baker – British Contemporary Artist & Military Painter
Alix is a contemporary British artist living in Hampshire creating original paintings in oil, acrylic, gouache and watercolour. Her work explores landscapes, seascapes, people, urban scenes and places encountered on her travels. Alix is also an internationally recognised military artist. Her military work has been been commissioned by regiments, defence organisations and private collectors and is held in museums, military establishments and public collections in Britain and overseas. Her paintings are inspired by atmosphere, light, colour and the stories within everyday scenes. Whether painting the British countryside, a Cornish coastline, people at work in the Middle East or Asia or a historical military subject, she aims to capture a moment that suggests a story beyond the confines of the canvas.

Upcoming Exhibitions
Due to a broken vertebra early in 2026 exhibitions had to be cancelled and painting production none. However, she is now exhibiting again in late summer and autumn exhibitions.
