Biography

Alix has two sides to her art - 'civilian' and military.


On the civilian side: 

paintings are done in a variety of styles and media.  The subject matter tends to dictate which medium is used.  


One of her specialties is paintings of Oman and the Arabian Gulf. 


On the military side: 

scenes of active service, parades, official presentations etc. In fact, anything on a military theme can be considered.


Information on past official commissions can be supplied on request. Her past mail order business sold her military work worldwide in print, postcard and other forms. 


Alix has written, painted and done graphic work for many specialist publications. Some of the world's top model soldier makers have used her work for reference. Several web sites are illustrated by her pictures.


Her work can be found in numerous museums from those throughout the United Kingdom to several abroad. Her advice is sought by publishers, authors, silversmiths, sculptors, magazines and historians.

Alix is also a judge at exhibitions and has been the subject of study by A level and GCSE students.

She is a Freeman of the City of London and of the Worshipful Company of Painter-Stainers. 

Alix is married to Tom Bremridge and has 2 sons.
